DHL begins cargo flights out of Felipe Ángeles Airport

Since February 2023 air companies and Mexico government agreed to move their cargo operations to the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA); 14 airlines have already started operations. It is expected that by the end of the year there will be 27 airlines in total.

DHL Express was the first cargo company to arrive at AIFA followed by Estafeta, the mexican parcel service company who has planned to start operations in September 2023. Other companies such as: Air Canada, Air France KLM Martinair Cargo, China Southern, Emirates SkyCargo, Lufthansa Cargo and Mas Air among others,  joined recently this year.

As a matter of fact, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) made official the extension of 40 more days for cargo airlines to transfer their operations from AICM to AIFA. The new deadline is September 2023.
